Planning a beach holiday in Australia?  There are definitely so many beach travel destinations and accommodation options available in Australia.

The Gold Coast is one of the best beach travel destinations, boasting some of Australia’s top beaches. That’s according to which shared its Top 10 Beaches in Australia, four of them on the country’s Gold Coast.

Burleigh Heads rated the number one beach in Australia for its “ideal surfing conditions, village atmosphere and fantastic views.”

Coolangatta rated number three for “two of the world’s best surf breaks and easy access to family-friendly facilities.”

Broadbeach rated number six for its “safe swimming, clear water and golden sand, two patrolled areas and nearby pedestrian shopping and café precinct.”

While Surfers Paradise, home to the Surfers Paradise Festival, rated number seven by travelers in Australia.

If you’re heading to the Gold Coast in June/July, the month-long  Surfers Paradise Festival is well worth visiting for its celebration of Gold Coast art, culture, music and food.

Highlights of the Surfers Paradise Festival include:

  • Launch It! Beach concert;
  • Australian Street Entertainment Championships hosting the world’s best jugglers, acrobats, magicians, puppeteers and musicians;
  • The Oneway Street party showcasing musical and artistic talents and
  • A La Carte in the Park with fine restaurants offering a “groovy picnic blanket affair.”
